Mutton Keema Pulao… Cousin of Mutton Biryani….!

Mutoon Keema Pulao it’s a quite tasteful item like Mutton Biryani. Here the cooking process is much faster than Mutton Biryani. We are using Mutton Keema to get prepared this pulao much faster but keeping the mouth watering taste. Who doesn’t love Mutton Keema, now when you get a food item called Mutton Keema, we are sure this will become your one of favourite food.

Ingredients for Keema:

  • 500 Gram Minced/Keema Mutton
  • Very Finely Chopped 3 Onions
  • 4 Table Spoon Oil
  • Chopped Mint Leaves
  • Chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 4-5 Silced Green Chillies
  • Ginger Garlic paste 1 Table Spoon
  • 2 Tea spoon Coriander powder
  • 2 Tea spoon Red Chilly powder
  • ½ Tes spoon cumin seed powder
  • 1 Table spoon Garam Masala
  • Green peas for taste
  • Tomato Puree

Ingredients For Cooking Rice:

  • 1 Table spoon Ghee
  • 2 Cinnamon Stick
  • 2-3 Cardamom
  • ½ Tea spoon Cumin Seeds
  • ½ Tea spoon Pepper seeds
  • 1-2 Biryani/Bay Leaf
  • 2-3 Silced Green Chillies
  • 1 Sliced Onion
  • Chopped Coriander Leaves
  • Chopped Mint Leaves

Note: In Both cooking process Salt requested to add per taste.

Take a frying pan and heat it adding Oil in it. Now add the finely chopped Onion and sauté it for 3-4 minutes till its golden brown. Once the onion is fried good add the ginger garlic paste and stir it for 2 minutes. Just see the raw flavor of ginger garlic paste is gone. Than add the chopped mint and coriander in it, mix it well and sauté for 3-4 minutes. You will see a good flavored mixture prepared. To this mixture add the mutton keema and required salt. Now mix the content very well, till the mixture is proper settled with mutton. Once done add powder ingredients as mentioned in list. Keep stirring for 2-3 minutes, need to make sure the content are well mixed. In low flame let the keema leave out its water content for a minute or so.

Once you see the mutton keema little wet, pressure cook it for 3-4 minutes like 2-3 whistle may be. After the whistle let the cooker settle for 3-4 minutes and then open the lid. Now add the green peas and tomato puree to this cooked Mutton Keema and keep it on lowest flame, mean while we cook the Biryani Rice.

Now cooking biryani rice is Art, this process need correct measure of water and cooking time. Only then you can get long cooked rice with good flavor and smell. Lets go through the process. We have tried best to give you full details.

Note: For good long separate biryani rice, water measurement is most important. For 1 Cup of Rice you need to add little less than Two and half cup of water. Also need to make sure rice is soaked in water for at least 10-15 minutes.

Here in this food we aren’t going to add the biryani masala in rice instead we are going to pack it in small piece of cloth and drop it in while cooking to give only the flavor. Take small piece of cloth and put cumin seed, cardamom, cinnamon stic, bay leaves, black pepper seed may be other biryani spice if you have in mind. Tightly wrap the cloth and keep it aside.

Take a frying pan add 2 table spoon of ghee in it. Once heated add the spice packed cloth in it and sauté it for a minute. Once done add the sliced onion and green chillies. Let the onion be light brown add chopped coriander and mint to it. Mix it well till you get the good flavor smell. Here you need to add the water as noted. Add required salt and let the water boil for a minute. One this all is done add the pre soaked rice and let it boil too. Take a tava/pan heat it well. Now on lowest flame cover the pan and place this pan on tawa for Dum cook for 4-5 minutes.

After 5 minutes spread the cook Mutton Keema on rice and let it cook in Dum again for 4-5 minutes. Once done please remove the lid.

Garnish it with coriander leaves, trying give a very gentle stir. Need to be very gentle so that rice aren’t broken of smashed.

Your Mutton Keema Pulao is ready to be served with good Raita.
