How to Make Smashed Garlic Palak Dal Recipe

Ingredients:

  • A bunch of Palak
  • ½ TuvarDal
  • 1 cup water
  • Finely chopped Onion
  • 3 -4 slice of green chilly
  • 5-6 garlic cloves
  • Small quantity chopped garlic for flavor
  • 1 chopped tomato
  • 2-3 Red Dry Chilly
  • Jeera for sauté/Tadka
  • 3 TBL Spoon Oil

 

Method:

Take 2 table spoon oil, heat it for few minutes to fry the onion. Once heated fry the onion till its light brown.Add slice of green chilly with garlic cloves and also add finely chopped garlic. Fry the mixture for few minutes till the time you get the nice smell of the mixture. Now add the palak leaves after washing, just give a touch of small fry and add the tomato to it to fry little more. Once done add ½ cup water and boil it for 10-12 minutes.

On other part you need to cook dal as usual you cook for normal dal added with turmeric. Once both dal and palak is cooked mix both and let it cool for few minutes so that mixture settles to give taste. Now try to smash both dal and palak so that content becomes like partial gravy. Do not use any blender to smach, need to smash yourself . That will give a typical look of palak paneer or Aloopalak.

Take a small fry kadai add 1 table spoon oil. Need to sauté jeera, red chilly and small quantity of garlic and ginger. Get the tadka ready and pour it on the Dal and Palak mix.

Its ready to serve…!

This typical Smash Garlic Palak Dal goes good only with rice. To add more taste you can try side dish of red fried potato or other little spicy dried items.
